About La Petite Crêperie
Julien is from Toulon, in the south of France, but his parents are from Brittany (where crêpes are from!) and his dad, as a chef, is the one who taught him all the traditional recipes they are using in their Durham and Newcastle crêpe bars. He went to university in Newcastle, where he made friends with Fred, a parisian lad, who shares the same passion for French food and especially crêpes. They had the same idea (opening a crêperie over here), so everything went pretty smoothly after this. They started back in 2012 by attending markets, fairs and festivals, before opening their first crêpe bar in the Grainger market (Newcastle) in 2014. They only opened the new one in Durham back in August. Outside catering remains their main job, attending more and more food fairs, festivals and functions all around the North East, with also Leeds and Glasgow in their sights in the next few weeks.
