- 1 loaf of brioche (Sainsbury's do some nice stuff)
- 250g butter
- Handful of sultanas
- 50g chocolate (only if you want)
- Tablespoon of brown sugar
- 450ml milk
- 2 eggs
Method
Melt a hunk of butter and pour it into your baking dish.
Melt some more butter in a saucepan large enough to put a slice of brioche in. Do this over a low heat. When it has melted pop a slice of the brioche in to soak up the butter on one side.
Pop the brioche in the baking dish, butter-side down. Repeat until the base of the dish is covered with brioche.
Now add in the sultanas, the chocolate (if you're doing that) and half the sugar.
Next cover with brioche - again melt some butter and dip the brioche in This time lay the brioche in butter-side UP.
Measure out your milk in a jug. Add in the eggs and whisk with a fork. Pour over the pudding. Add a sprinkling more sugar and a few sultanas.
Let it sit for an hour (or until ready to eat). Cook for 30 mins at 200. Should be golden on top.
