- Puff pastry
- Mince meat (bought stuff)
- Glass of water
- Half a glass of milk
- Icing sugar for dusting
Method
Roll the pastry out so that it's quite thin (a couple of mm) on a floured board. Tthen cut into circles. You need two circles per mince pie.
Pop a teaspoon of mince meat onto each round. Then dip your finger into the water and paint around the edge of the mince meat. Grab the other round and press it down on top. So basically it'll look a bit like a mole hill. Ish.
Pop the completed mince pie on a baking tray that you have put some flour on (so they don't stick).
Just before you put them in the oven, grab your glass of milk and paint some on top with your fingers. This makes them go golden. Also poke a small hole in the top of each one with a sharp knife to let the steam out when cooking.
They take about 11-12 mins at about 200. Basically keep checking.
Sprinkle with icing sugar to make them pretty. Enjoy.
