This is not the most complex thing you can do in a kitchen, but it is a vital one to know how to do. In my opinion this is the best way to cook an egg - unlike frying or scrambling it is 'pure' and healthy and unlike a boiled egg, it is not infuriating to eat!
Cut yourself some bread and toast it.
To do the egg, boil some water in a pan (to speed it up, use a kettle to get it boiling to start with) and break an egg in.
At this stage it will look foul but leave it for a couple of minutes and scoop out. Make sure you drain excess water - soggy egg is not a good look.
Eat with your toast and ketchup!
