- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 500g beef mince
- 2 tins of chopped tomatoes
- Glass of red wine
- Worcestershire sauce (to taste - give it a good shake, probably about a tablespoon)
- Salt and pepper
- Few sprigs of basil (if you have it)
- Pasta
- Cheese, for grating
Method
Chop and fry an onion in a little olive oil. Peel and chop/crush the garlic and add it in.
Pop the mince in. Cook until brown. You will need to mash it all up a bit with a wooden spoon.
Add two tins of chopped tomatoes, a good slug of red wine, a tablespoon(ish) of Worcestershire sauce and some salt and pepper. Stir.
Allow it to simmer for about half an hour. Add a bit more Worcestershire sauce if you want and some basil.
Pop the pasta on for about 6 minutes in some boiling water (with a little salt and olive oil). Eat!
This makes quite a lot; if you don't eat it all then you can freeze it. Just put a portion in different Tupperware boxes (or jam/coffee/olive jars) and then chuck them in the freezer. It should do about 4 extra meals.
