Welcome to the second instalment of "microwave week"! This is a nice student-y take on a classic. Takes literally a minute - I like it if you don't quite cook the whole thing through so it goes super gloopy. It'll make ya happy!
I had no idea what these were before doing them. Turns out they are like mini cinnamon dough ball cookie things. Very good! From the "Nosh For Students" recipe book. Fab.
Rosie introduced me to this a few weeks ago when her brother was up. It smelt and tasted fantastic. She kindly sent me the recipe - it must be said it is originally a Nigel Slater (and therefore fabulous) and this is the Barking Baking attempt! Adding a little chilli powder is definitely worth it if you've got some as it adds a bit of a kick.
So easy. So full of flavour. So cheap. It made Rob very happy. Beautiful. BOOM. And Cora, the dark horse, is out and about again. She made this one for Nick's birthday. It is fabulously moist and the icing is to die for. One of Lorraine Pascale's recipes. Absolutely fantastic. Update: made this for Will's birthday recently and used a different sized cake tin; it was about 8 inches I reckon (so quite big) and it only took 15 mins to cook. So basically watch out.
OK so when I first did this I thought it was Moussaka. I was wrong. Moussaka doesn't have courgette apparently... So this is a hugo-ism. Not going to lie my Dad didn't like it but my brother and Mum did, so I thought it's worth sharing anyway. It is pretty healthy (except the cheese!).
This cake was nothing short of staggering. Bekah made it for Chloe's birthday and it was glorious. It looks fantastic, it tastes fantastic. It is a winner. What's more, it is not even that tricky. It just takes time and care! Beautiful.
Bekah: In an endeavour to make a ‘not-your-typical’ birthday cake, I thought I’d make a rainbow cake. It’s incredibly easy to make and pretty much just a twist on the classical Victoria Sponge cake. |
