Crucially, for the purposes of this page, my last catered meal was this morning. Lunch was uncharted territory. This marks an historic moment - this post is the first to concern something savoury as opposed to something sweet.
Ingredients
- Bread
- Butter
- Cheese
- Loyd Grossman Tomato and Basil Sauce
The toastie is a fairly self explanatory thing to do but there is one important thing that you should remember:
When you put the bread into the toastie, ensure you have lightly buttered the side exposed to the heating element - this will make it go a nice golden brown colour.
Method
Pop a slice of bread in the toastie and cover with one layer of cheese (more than one layer makes it go a bit lumpy - if you are into that then go for it, I have to say I am not).
Then add the Loyd Grossman sauce. This stuff is absolutely magical. It will change the way you look at toasties. I cannot understate how superb it is. It was designed for pasta but works like a dream here. Even better, on sale in Tesco's for 84p at the moment.
Also, try it with peanut butter and jam. Would suggest not adding too much jam as it gets very hot!
