I was hungry at lunch and felt like some proper food. Sausages were, therefore, obviously on the agenda. This is easy. Do it.
Omelettes are healthy, easy and use up stuff. These mushrooms are left over from the mushroom risotto the other night. A good lunch.
So easy it's unreal. Fills you up. Get on it for lunch. Ingredients
Method Just fry the mushrooms in some butter and Worcester. Serve with buttered toast. It is hard not to like rocky road. This one is amazing. Inspired by the Gü cookbook my housemates gave me. Divine and easy recipe. Give it a shot. Toast a slice of the Olive, Basil and Sun Dried Tomato Bread then eat with goats cheese, tomato and lettuce. Easy as pie.
This is spectacular. It's Millionaire's Shortbread - but better! No denying it. Elena introduced it to me and it is glorious. Do it. Will change your life. I really made a mistake here. I forgot to add the yeast. I realised this after an hour of it not rising - so instead of starting again, I just kneaded it in. The dough at this stage was at what I like to call the “soft brick” stage, by which I mean that you could probably break a window with it, but not hammer a tent peg in with it. Not that helpful I realise but there you go.
Anyhow, this recipes is actually great and I will replicate it. The bread is definitely firmer but this works well since the inside is all olives and tomato and so quite moist. This is something that my dad has always made. Ever since I was little, on special occasions he would declare that he was going to treat us all to some of his "amazing dauphinoise potatoes". We would all inwardly groan, but really this is unfair. They are the most luxurious potatoes in the world. Nothing beats them. They are creamy and delicious! Furthermore, they are not actually that difficult to do - the ingredients are simple thing; there is nothing bizarre: potatoes, onion, cheese and milk are the key ingredients. Nothing more.
Give it a shot. It's fantastic. This is one of Jamie Oliver's recipes and is something to go with something else - I just had it with fish grilled on the BBQ. Very nice and can be a great salad; almost prefer it cold!
Soooooo goood! Peanut butter and chocolate in a beautiful plaited loaf. Life doesn't get much better. Different flavour in each plait. Amazing.
What is chicken ugg? Well, it is the left overs from a roast. Sounds pretty nasty, but it is very nice and unbelievably cheap - you are making the roast chicken do two meals. Give it a go.
OK, this was a mistake. I was trying to make fudge. But somehow it did not work as fudge. However, this is AMAZINGLY GOOD. You are supposed to use peanut butter but I did not do so because my mum is allergic to it so tried with ordinary butter. This may be why it did not work as it was meant to. Still, this is disgustingly good and would work as a pudding after a great meal. Best served chilled!
Super easy. Just chuck everything on and enjoy. Use the Olive and Parmesan Swirl Bread.
If you can't be bothered to cook the bacon, I suggest you use ham and add a pinch of salt. Another Tovey recipe, and a very good one. Easy recipe for a small healthy supper. Do it. Not that pretty but super nice! What a recipe! So good. Give it a shot. The ingredients are cheap so it makes sense to make your own.
Mars bar bread. Need I say more? Fantastic. For the lazy student who cannot be bothered to use Nutella!? This is exactly the same recipe as the Freshly Baked Bread one. The only difference is that you pop in two mars bars when you put the dough in the baking tin.
I love ratatouille. This is a tart that kind of incorporates ratatouille but it also has sausages in it to make it even more filling. Obviously you could leave this out if you wanted. This was really nice. Try it.
Top tip - you have to cook the sausages, the pastry and then the tart itself so think about when you put it in otherwise you will be eating very late! Nothing is quite like the smell of freshly baked bread. Now you can have it at home with this easy recipe.
Chocolate croissants are one of life's little pleasures. If you can't be bothered to make the pastry yourself, use this recipe. Super quick to do - perhaps a Sunday morning treat? I did a mix of chocolate, chocolate and lemon curd, lemon curd and lemon curd with raisins. All were great, but particularly liked lemon curd with chocolate. Give it a go.
OK so I was bored and I got experimenting....
Good if you have a cold or just feel like a soothing drink! |
