As such, have discovered a good way to steam veg with no additional washing up.
- Boil some water (with inevitably pasta/rice in it).
- Cover with a colander.
- Chuck in the veg.
- Pop a pan lid on.
- Wait.
That's all.
Hope we're all well.
OK I am late to this party. I have always boiled (read: mostly avoided) vegetables but something has changed and now I have to confess I am quite into them. Apparently steaming them is better for you too. Something about not boiling the nutrients out of them. As such, have discovered a good way to steam veg with no additional washing up.
That's all. Hope we're all well. We made these the other night. Just a nice way to make your sausages a little more exciting. If you burn the dish like we did, the best bet is to soak it and then if it still doesn't clean, fill it up with boiling water and some washing up liquid and then boil it in the oven. That does the trick. So big shout out to Sophie for sending this in. Went down really well in the house and tasted fabulous. You should try it. I don't actually like courgette that much. But I enjoyed this. I feel like if you are vegetarian or just quite au fait with courgettes in general you'll like this. Don't use too big a courgette otherwise you'll overdose on it. And that's not good. The one in the video is probably the biggest you want it to be. Otherwise it's just too much courgette. Fact. First time with a spiraliser. Think it's pretty funky. So healthy. Went to Liv's last night and things escalated. It was a really lovely evening and great to see everyone but I must say that I did wake up feeling a tad tender. So I thought it was high time I do a post about surviving hangovers. There is no silver bullet but these are my hangover cures. Or at least the way I deal with them.
Here goes... 1. WATER - don't look at it. Drink it. Before you go to sleep. When you wake up. All the time. #BeMoreSea. So Lauren very kindly sent over this recipe. It's originally a Nigella one but I've massively reduced the amount of sugar in it. Still tastes lovely. It's a lovely refreshing orange and lime ice cream. Well worth a go. Super simple to make. Faaab. Also, I got half way through making this and realised it was a bit like the chocolate puds I like to make (these ones) and so I thought we'd make some little cheesecakes too. These worked really well! And because they come in little ramekins you don't end up eating waaayy to much. #BasicallyHealthy. All is explained below. Check out the video! Have a really glorious Christmas! I love frubes. They were such a huge part of my childhood. Now we've given them a cheeky barking baking makeover... Watch the video to learn more! Key tip:
Place the frube in the freezer making sure that it's straight - don't want a wonky frube otherwise it won't come out. That's it. Just freeze and eat! |
